Important Update to St Vincent de Paul Holy Trinity Bloomington, IL Food Pantry Procedures
Beginning Monday 11/3 – Due to the recent government shutdown and the resulting ongoing impact on SNAP benefits, we are experiencing a significant increase in the number of families seeking food assistance. To ensure we can serve as many households as possible, our food pantry has made the following temporary changes to our distribution process. We believe these adjustments will help ensure that all families receive support. Please note the following important updates:
Streamlined Services:
We’ve adjusted our process to distribute food more quickly & to decrease wait times. We believe these changes will help us serve more households in less time.
1. Registration Process
•Come prepared with your Name, Date of Birth or Client ID Number (for those who already have one)
•Our new guests will be asked to pull to the side to complete their initial registration in order to keep the line moving.
2. To help us serve everyone safely and fairly, only families who are in the parking lot by the end of distribution time will be served. Unfortunately we will be unable to remain open to serve any families still waiting on Chestnut Street after these times.
• Mondays: by 12:00 PM (morning) or 4:00 PM (afternoon)
• 2nd & 4th Saturdays: by 11:00 AM
3. To make sure we have enough food for everyone, if you receive food during the 2nd or 4th Saturday distribution – you cannot receive again on the following Monday. Thank you for understanding and helping us serve all our neighbors fairly.
•If you receive food during a Saturday distribution we ask you not to return the following Monday for another distribution within 2 days.
4. You will receive ALL pre-packed food bags/boxes instead of making any individual selections on the line.
•In an effort to move the line more quickly, at this time you will not be able to make individual selections.
Share with Others: If you receive an item your family cannot use, please consider sharing it with a neighbor or another family in need. Every act of kindness helps our community stay strong together.
No Special Requests:
During this unimaginable time, we kindly ask guests not to make specific requests of our volunteers at the distribution line. Our team is working hard to provide as much assistance with the food & supplies available.
•This does not include adult and/or baby necessities. Those will continue to be provided as our inventory allows us to do so.
Stay in Your Vehicle:
For everyone’s safety and to keep the line moving efficiently, all guests MUST remain inside their vehicles during distribution.
•Our volunteers will come to your vehicle.
•If an absolute need arises, you’ll be asked to exit the distribution line & park your vehicle before exiting it.
Thank You for Your Patience and Understanding We know these times are stressful for many. Our volunteers are working hard to make sure no one goes hungry. Your cooperation and kindness help us keep things running smoothly.
We are here for you & together, we’ll get through this challenging time. If you haven’t already done so, please follow our Facebook page and check our website for most current distribution updates.
