Clothes Pantry Reopens
SVdP-HT’s Clothes Pantry, founded in Bloomington nearly 40 years ago, has offered lightly used clothes for men, women, teens, children and babies nearly every week since then, rain or shine.
It took an international pandemic to close it!
On Monday, July 13, 2020, after ten long weeks of restrictions related to COVID-19, our clothes pantry reopened, with just a few minor adjustments.
Pre-sorted summer clothes will be placed in boxes on tables located outside the SVdP-HT building on 705 N. Roosevelt Street every Monday from 10 am to noon. These clothes represent a very small fraction of the clothes inside the Clothes Pantry. Volunteers, working as personal shoppers, will receive requests (such as a special event dress, or business jacket and pants) and search the collection inside the Clothes Pantry to find clothes that may be suitable. Winter clothes may be requested as well.
To preserve social distancing requirements, the number of people able to examine clothes at the same time may be restricted. As people leave, new visitors may take their place. Visitors must wear a mask or face covering.
The Clothes Pantry receives new donations on Monday from 9 am to 12 pm. Donated clothes should be placed in paper sacks or cardboard boxes (not plastic bags).
Thank you!
